Fractional Resurfacing- Profractional
How does Profractional work?
Profractional uses a tiny laser beam to treat thousands of pinpoint areas of your skin. Because only a fraction of your skin is directly treated with laser, the surrounding untreated tissue promotes rapid healing. This skin's wound healing response creates new collagen which adds firmness and resilience to the skin.
What will happen during the procedure?
A numbing cream will be applied for 45 minutes. Your skin will then be cleaned. Your eyes will be covered with safety sheilds. When the laser energy is applied, you will hear a rapid succession of snapping sounds. The procedure normally takes 30 minutes. After the procedure you may have the sensation resembling a sunburn. This resolves in about 20 minutes. Your treated skin must be covered with vaseline until the area is healed. This is generally 48 hours. As your skin heals in the days following your treatment, you may notice a general tightening effect. However, the true benefit of Profractional is the collagen remodeling that occurs 4-6 months following your treatment
